Disclosure and Barring Service Checks (DBS)

Disclosure and Barring Service Checks (DBS)

What to expect through Halo Staffing when it comes to Disclosure and Barring Service Checks (DBS Checks.)

How are they done?

First you must make sure that you have three forms of ID, this can include a:

  • Driving License
  • Passport
  • Birth Certificate
  • Bank Statement (Dated in the last three months)
  • Utility Bill (Dated in the last three months)

Someone at Halo Staffing will send over a link with a user ID and Password if you are not already subscribed to the update service.

If you use this link, you will also get an email telling you when your application has been submitted, as well as being able to find out the status of the check.

Standard and Enhanced DBS checks

What is the difference?

Standard DBS Check: Will check for a criminal record against the Police National Computer, for things such as, warnings, convictions etc.

Enhanced DBS Check: This will include checking for the same things as a standard check but also any information that is held locally by police. Jobs like care require this check as you will oversee children and/or adults. Anything that could be a safe-guarding issue will be checked.

Depending on the situation, if you have a criminal record, it does not necessarily stop you from working in care. This will all be spoken about during interview stages, over the phone or via email.

By having a criminal record check done it helps employers such as Halo Staffing, make better and safer options when recruiting. Helping to find the right people to hire is extremely important and these checks support that process.

Mandatory criminal record checks help the care industry function, ensuring that everything is running as smoothly as possible.
