People are at the centre of everything we do, and we all want our people to be happy. Here are some accessible activity ideas for the people you are looking after, whether they are young or old!
- Dance your troubles away! Put on some of your favourite songs and through some shapes!
- Send a postcard! Bring out the nostalgia and send a postcard to a loved one. Of course, you can make your own and decorate however you’d like
- Singing – we’re not asking you to be the next Tina Turner but singing or humming to songs. Create a theme with a Spotify or YouTube playlist. You could even create a name that song quiz
- Bubbles – they’re cheap and simple fun for all ages. You can make your own with some fairy washing up liquid
- Shadow puppets – create a show with your favourite animals!
- Arts and Crafts – Let your creative side take over! Some possible tasks to do could be… painting something you like, making cards and sculpting with play dough
- Reading – whether that’s in a group or individually. Pick up a book and see what characters are waiting for you
- Have a movie night. You can even hold a vote on what film to watch
- Have a day where you could present photos, objects, video clips etc so you can share some stories amongst others
- Have a lucky dip – everyone gets to pick out an item. It could be a good idea to fill this with sensory items, such as play dough, bubbles, finger paint etc
