Care Day 2022

Care Day 2022

On Wednesday 19 February, Care Day will commence, known as the world’s largest celebration of the rights of children and young people with care experience.

Every year Care Day helps to work towards ensuring that the world gives a better approach and understanding to young people who have overcome adversities. Helping to make them feel good about themselves and their achievements.

On the 19th the official site for Care Day will hold several events throughout the day. These will be:

  • Live Q+A session at 11am-12pm between care experienced young people, the Ombudsman for Children and Commissioners for the UK.
  • At 4pm an announcement on social media will be made for the winners of their Baking, Writing and Art Competitions. If you know someone who might be interested in this then make sure to tell them to send their entries by 5pm on Wednesday 17th
  • A movie night will also be held at 9pm for the film ‘Instant Family’ the 2018 comedy-drama starring Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne as parents who adopt three siblings. I’ve personally watched this film and it’s a great one. Make sure to check it out!

Care Day is an extremely important day for so many young people all around the world. It’s a day for recognition, celebration of achievements and conversation starters.

This is not just a one off for people to only show interest and empathy towards this topic on one day a year but all year round. Care Day is also intended to offer an understanding to others, give a smooth transition into starting conversations and celebrating achievements of others.
