Firstly, we will cover the definition of mental capacity, and common causes that lead to a lack of mental capacity in an individual.

The next section will cover the five statutory principles of the Mental Capacity Act, in detail, for you to revise and understand.

After that, we will cover the two-stage process that is used to assess a person for lack of capacity. This section will also explain how to deliver the most appropriate care if an individual is deemed to have a lack of capacity, and what decisions can be supported or made on behalf of individuals.

Next, we will list the different roles, bodies, and powers that support the Mental Capacity Act, elaborating on how they do this effectively and efficiently.
