Encouraging Learning

Encouraging Learning

Continued learning helps keep skills sharp, especially in a fast-paced environment such as the health and social care industry. While mandatory training is essential and much needed, your staff team could also benefit from opportunities to grow beyond the basics. Here are a few ways you can encourage learning:

  1. Make it visible: Talk about learning opportunities and what you are currently learning
  2. Use staff team meetings wisely: Dedicate five minutes to share useful learning tips and wins
  3. Offer choices: Allow you staff team to pick an extra course that they’re interested in
  4. Link training to goals: Help your staff team to see how learning connects with their aspirations and daily tasks
  5. Acknowledge effort: A thank you or certificate during handover can go a long way

Encouraging learning and development strengthens your staff team and the quality of care they provide. For more information on training, please click HERE!
