  • Drink plenty of water – cut down on the amount of alcohol you drink and eat a variety of food.
  • Exercise regularly – exercising can help to prevent several health problems and help towards improving mental health issues. This can be best done by creating a regular routine. Getting at least 30 minutes of exercise a day can go a long way. Another step to take which can further help your health is by spending at least 15 minutes a day outside.
  • Reduce sitting time – You can do this by following the above step and/or walking around the house/workplace when possible.
  • Reduce screen time – If you find yourself spending a lot of time on your phone or other devices then it could be the time to take a break. To start, try staying offline for an hour a day for at least one week and then progress from there.
  • Get enough sleep – If you have a lot going on in your life chances are it will take an impact on your mental health. Getting enough sleep each day allows your body and mind to rest. Making sure you get at least 8 hours a night has been proven to be beneficial.
  • Find ways to manage emotions – One option would be going to therapy and taking steps in your own time to find what works for you is also incredibly important. You can do this by keeping a journal and writing about when you feel the most emotions. Don't forget to also keep notes of progress and changes that you notice about your health.
