How Does Halo Staffing Recruit Ethically?

Ethical recruitment is the process of assessing candidates without discrimination, in order to help us find and hire the right people for Halo Staffing. This is done by recruiting carefully in an ethical process avoiding unconscious bias.

In order to recruit ethically, training should be provided for all members of the team. This training should cover various topics on diversity and equality within the workplace. Areas of discussion include, unconscious bias, types of bias, how to confront direct and indirect discrimination. As well as making sure that ways to resolve these issues are included both in the training and work policies.

It's important to recruit ethically so that you and others you work with can build lasting experiences and relationships with each other, making sure honesty and acceptance is at the centre of the workplace.

What is unethical recruitment?

Unethical recruitment is when an employer discriminates against a potential candidate because of any of the protected characteristics stated in the Equality Act 2010, this includes:

  • Gender
  • Gender Reassignment
  • Age
  • Race
  • Disability
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Pregnancy and Maternity
  • Religion and Belief

Why is ethical recruitment important?

Ethical recruiters are respectful towards all potential candidates, creating an environment of trust and confidence leaving individuals to build strong relationships with those they work with, including you. Allowing for the creation of an environment where the happiness and value of each employee is at the forefront of the company.

Honesty allows for a better interviewing and selection process to ensure that we can find the best possible candidates (like you) for the company. So that those we employ have the same set of values as Halo Staffing.  These values are: friendly, professional, respectful, considerate, integrity and tenacity

Ethical recruitment provides benefits for recruitment agencies, individual companies, and you. It also ensures that the company's reputation is preserved for years to come so that the high level of recruiting carries on.

As time has gone on more businesses have participated in ethical recruitment so that companies can connect workers by engaging fairly and putting work ethic at the centre of each company.

Tips for ethical recruitment

The most important step we take is to treat all of our candidates equally and steer away from any unconscious bias within the company. We do this by addressing what these bias are and then find ways to resolve them.

We spend time to carefully make sure that all necessary information is within job descriptions and only ask for any relevant information that may be needed for you to apply and acquire an interview.

Another important step that we take is to make sure that confidentiality is kept and no personal information on any individual is leaked or purposely shown to another.

You and each individual deserves respect, honesty, and transparency within the recruitment process and within your time working with Halo Staffing.
