Getting turned down from a job happens to everyone. Being unsuccessful in securing the job you wanted through interview or application is a good opportunity to think about what went well and what could have hone better.
Spend some time reflecting on aspects of the interview or job application noting what you came up with. Do this as soon after your interview as possible, your memory will fade and there will be lots about the interview that you will forget if you don’t write it down quickly.
Think about how you can change the ‘negative’ points into positive ones. There will always be positive points to take away so be proud of yourself! Rejection is the first step in employment progress.
We recommend that you always ask for detailed feedback about your application and following your interview and make sure to listen, don’t ask just because you feel it’s the right thing to do, really take something away from it.
Think about the learning experience that comes with the rejection. Or maybe the job just wasn’t ideal for you. There is the perfect job waiting for you just around the corner.
