The Importance of the NHS

The Importance of the NHS

The NHS protects both patients and medical staff, the importance this has can be seen in a variety of different ways including the constant help the NHS offers towards improving communities’ health and taking steps to reduce health inequalities.

We know that there are many mixed feelings about the NHS and every person has had a different experience with this service, that much is clear.

Even with mixed views there is no point where we are unsure that we can get support with known treatment and that is one of the many positives with the NHS. Information is available and so is a healthcare service that is easily accessible for everyone when performed at its highest level.

The role that the NHS plays in society is crucial, no one wants to avoid finding care or finding a cure simply down to the fact that they do not have the financial abilities to do so, with the NHS this pressure is taken away.

Since the beginning of the initial cases of COVID-19 there was an added overwhelming pressure on NHS workers and still the NHS continues to offer care to those in need.

It’s clear that the NHS is incredibly important within society, however, there is still a need for further support so that preventing poor health becomes the new norm for the NHS business. It is important that new ways of care can continue to be introduced on a regular basis so that everyone can be effectively looked after.

Improving the health of any population requires a change in mindset and cultural shift and it is no different here, there is an urgent need for many improvements in the NHS, some of which are being made.

We need to make changes and create plans so that we can become better at engaging people, delivering change, and sharing and spreading good practice.

If we work towards changes like these, we could encourage other countries to follow similar ideas to ensure that they can better support their healthcare services and the communities accessing them as well.
