As a Deputy Manager for people with Learning Disabilities, you will be leading and inspiring the team to deliver special experiences to residents, which promote choice and independence to make a positive difference to their lives. Working with the Home Manager you will implement care home policies around standards care, staff welfare and training. Working in a small, family orientated care home you will still have plenty of opportunity for hands on support and interaction with our residents. There will be management and admin required but you will not lose the opportunity to continue working with residents – the reason you entered the profession.
You will:
- Provide care in accordance with the instructions and training given
- Help to promote and maintain an environment conductive to meeting the needs of residents, their’ relatives and friends
- Contribute to a team approach to resident care in conjunction with colleagues. Contribute to the legibility and accuracy of the resident’s care plans and other reports and the effectiveness of the established communication/reporting system. Participate in regular home meetings
- Observe the code of confidentiality
- Ensure that health and safety requirements are met. Report and record all accidents and incidents according to home policy, acting as necessary always informing the senior member of staff on duty.
- Promptly report any complaints made.
- Take responsibility for residents’ property and valuables according to home policy.
- Maintain knowledge of current procedures to be followed in the event of serious incidents.
Desirable Skills: Preferably medication training (Training can be provided) and you do need to have previous experience in a senior role in care.
Essential Requirements: Double vaccinated, DBS.
Desirable Qualifications: None required. An NVQ level 3 is beneficial.

Shift Pattern: 8:00 to 16:30 (Hours are not set and may change due to needs of the service)
Training: Participate in initial induction training programme.
Attend nominated courses in First Aid and Manual Handling. Complete Food Hygiene training where appropriate. Contribute to the learning environment of all new staff.
