Introduction
Welcome to Halo Staffing Care Certificate Standards: Standard 4 – Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Human Rights.
At the beginning of this course, we will explore the principles of equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights, helping you understand their importance and how they contribute to safe, effective, compassionate, and person-centred care and support.
We will then examine the legislation, policies, and agreed ways of working that promote equality and protect individuals from discrimination.
You will learn about the different forms of discrimination, the impact these can have on individuals, and your responsibility to challenge discriminatory practices and behaviours in an appropriate and professional manner.
Finally, we will look at how equality, diversity, inclusion, and human rights can be promoted in day-to-day practice. You will learn how to respect and value individual differences, support people’s rights, choices, beliefs, and preferences, and ensure that care and support are delivered in a way that promotes dignity, inclusion, independence, and wellbeing for all individuals.
