Welcome to the Halo Staffing eLearning course for Standard 4 – Equality and Inclusion of the Care Certificate. In this course we will cover information about how to treat people fairly and avoid discrimination.
The first section will cover the importance of equality and inclusion, what they are, how to identify discriminatory behaviour, and how to help prevent discriminatory behaviour from happening.
After that, how to work in an inclusive way will be covered, including the relevant legislation, how to interact with people in a respectful way, and how to take action against discriminatory behaviours.
The final section will cover accessing relevant information to the topic, where, how, and when to access information, and who you can ask for advice and support.

This course has been carefully designed for carers, support workers, nurses and managers who want to learn more about Skills for Care Standard 4 of the Care Certificate, Equality and Diversity. Completing this course will ensure that you are fully up to date with relevant content to provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in your field. On successful completion of this course, you will be issued with a certificate and digital badge valid for 1 year.
Why should I take this course?Â
You should take this course if it’s necessary for you or your team to understand what is considered as discrimination, what can cause it, and how to respond in an effective way in order to reduce discrimination. Keeping in line with Skills for Care and the key legislation such as the Equality Act 2010, Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act 1998 and Health and Social Care Act 2012.Â
What will I learn?Â
This course will provide you and/or your team with an understanding of what diversity, equality and inclusion is, what discrimination is, what the 3 pieces of legislation surrounding this topic are, what you can and cannot do when you come across discrimination within the workplace and how to ensure everyone is I included fairly. You will also learn how and who you can ask for advice and support.Â
