Description

Welcome to the Halo Staffing eLearning course for Safer Recruitment. In this course we will go through everything you’ll need to know in order to be able to recruit staff in a way that is safe for all of the adults and children in your care.  

We will begin with a discussion of the recruitment and selection process, and the importance that it holds.  

From there, we’ll look at how to identify any training and safeguarding requirements that a role may have. 

The third section will cover the important steps to cover in the recruitment and selection process.  

After that, the safeguarding requirements that are inherent to certain jobs and roles will be looked at.  

Following on from that, we’ll cover how to ensure a fair process for applicants while minimising risks. 

Afterwards, we’ll look at how to include any safeguarding requirements of a role within the application form.  

From there, we’ll move on to what an identity check is, and why it is important.  

The eighth section will look at the information that should be provided pre-application.  

 After that, the purpose of a DBS check will be covered.  

Following on from there, we’ll look at what a regulated activity is.  

The second-to-last section will be on what a single central record is.  

Finally, we’ll look at some essential interview skills.
