Explain the importance of collaborating with staff to ensure consistent implementation of behaviour support plans

Describe preventative approach that aims to teach people new skills to replace behaviours that challenge – and other skills that enhance the opportunities people have for being independent

Welcome to the Halo Staffing Face-to-Face training on positive behaviour support.
We will begin this course by establishing the basic concepts.
The next topic will focus on positive behaviour support and CQC.
Having done that, we will describe all the relevant legislations in the UK.
We will then focus on informing you how to promote positive behaviour and reduce behaviours which challenge as a part of this we will also look into the importance of collecting and analysing data relating to this subject.
This will be promptly followed by a section which will describe the factors, motives and functions that contribute to behaviours that challenge, how to create individual behaviour support plans based on functional behaviour assessments and identified goals, ethical aspects of positive behaviour support and the importance of considering the person and his or her life circumstances when designing strategies to support them.
The next section will inform you how to design strategies to reduce the occurrence of behaviours that challenge through proactive approaches.
The role of effective communication and the importance of staff collaboration in ensuring consistent implementation of behaviour support plans will be discussed next.
We will then inform you how to reduce the likelihood of behaviours that challenge by creating physical and social environments that are supportive and capable of meeting people’s needs, a preventative approach that aims to teach people new skills to replace behaviours that challenge – and other skills that enhance the opportunities people have for being independent.
Finally, we will explain the importance of involving input from different professionals in designing appropriate interventions to provide active support for the wellbeing of the individual.
