Description

Welcome to the Halo Staffing Tier 2 blended course on dementia care.

We begin this course with an explanation of dementia and the importance of raising awareness about it. The next section informs you about the process of dementia identification, assessment, and diagnosis. This will be followed by information about dementia risk reduction and prevention.

Person-centred dementia care will be discussed next. Importance of communication, interaction and behaviour in dementia care will be the next topic. This will be followed by an explanation of the importance of health and well-being in dementia care. We will then describe about the pharmacological interventions in dementia care. Understanding how to safeguard and promote the independence of people with dementia will be discussed next.

The role of family and carers as partners in dementia care will be the next topic. We will then describe the importance of equality diversity and inclusion in dementia care. The next topic is about law, ethics and safeguarding in dementia care. Understanding what is end of life dementia care will be discussed next,

We will conclude the course with an explanation of the research and evidence-based practice in dementia care.
