Welcome to the Halo Staffing eLearning course on Fire Safety. In this course, we will teach you everything you’ll need to know to be able to react safely and appropriately to the threat of fire.
To start with, we’ll look at some of the basic characteristics of fire, smoke, and toxic fumes, and the basics of flammability.
From there, we’ll move on to potential fire hazards in the workplace, and how to identify them.
After that, we’ll look at fire risk evaluations, and what to do with the findings from them.
The fourth section will cover basic fire safety, and making sure that you follow any local fire safety protocols.
Following that will be the section on when it is necessary to raise the fire alarm, how to raise the fire alarm, and the actions you should take if you see or hear a raised fire alarm.
The section afterwards will cover the actions you should take if you notice fire or smoke.
From there, we’ll look at the different types of fire extinguishers that you may encounter.
In the eighth section, we’ll cover when each type of fire extinguisher should be used.
The penultimate section will look at the different safety precautions associated with fire extinguishers.
Finally, evacuation procedures, escape routes, and the importance of being familiar with them will be covered.
